Coast to Coast - Part Three

One of the most recurrent elements of American landscape is represetned by bridges. Everybody knows the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. San Francisco too has famous bridge: the so called Golden Gate. It crosses the bay, connecting two parts of the city. In the picture below you can see why it was called so. Its name is due to the small arch at the bottom-right of the bridge, which was the gate to the bay.

After the trip around the city, we went back to the airport the pick up the car we rent. We started driving: the most enjoyable part of the trip. I proposed myself as first driver. I had never driven such a kind of car before, and I was quite excited.

It was the sunset, and the light was fading out. We started the trip, but we were too tired to drive more than a couple of hours. So we decided to stop in Santa Cruz, basically in the middle of nowhere. We found a cheap motel, but we couldn't find something to eat... it was too late!! Just Suomen was so brave to eat food in the Burger King...I was worried for his health...

The day after we left very early in the morning. The best part of the western coast were to be viewed. We then undertook the California 1, southward. Shortly the leaving, a wonderful world started disclosing before our eyes...
